THE WORK
The OCONUS Software Engineer Senior Staff serves as a technical contributor responsible for the sustainment and maintenance of hardware and software systems across multiple geographically-dispersed OCONUS sites. You will partner with the OCONUS Site Lead to analyze current Lockheed Martin and end-user requirements, concepts of operation, and system architecture, translating them into actionable tasking that balances scope, schedule, and resource allocation. The position demands hands-on resolution of technical issues and ownership of the technical integrity of all software/system engineering deliverables, reporting directly to Hanover Technical Leadership and the Program Manager.

In this role you will:

• Sustain and maintain hardware and software systems across multiple OCONUS locations, ensuring continuous operational readiness.
• Analyze requirements, concepts of operation, and system architecture to define scope, schedule, and resource plans that meet program objectives.
• Resolve technical issues hands-on, guaranteeing the technical integrity and quality of all engineering outputs.
• Coordinate with the OCONUS Site Lead and program leadership to align engineering efforts with overall mission goals.
• Provide technical ownership for software and system engineering activities, delivering reliable solutions to program stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree or 9 years of professional experience with a related PhD or JD; or 4 years of professional experience with a MD.

• Experience in Windows environments, Linux/Unix environments, and networking.

• Experience with Software/Systems Integration, Network Architecture, and Software/System Testing, including virtualized environments

• Candidate will be required to travel periodically-sometimes on short notice.

• Must be available for after hours call-in and be able to adapt to flexible work hours as mission support requirements decide.

• Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment

• Strong written, communication, and presentation skills

• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and problems solving skills

• Must possess an active Security Clearance with a polygraph
Desired Skills:
• Candidate must have ability/background to quickly learn hardware and software systems not within current experience. Able to Update and integrate new hardware and software components into existing site architectures (i.e. servers, modems, switches, GOTS/COTS software)

• Integrate and troubleshoot both test and operational systems with issues often down to the OS level (Windows/LINUX/UNIX/RHEL)

• Author detailed test plans/procedure, prepare / brief test status and results to internal and external customers

• Must possess flexibility to adapt to new and often changing operational requirements as well as new way of doing things in a cost constrained environment.

• Language proficiency in Japanese highly desired.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $150,800 - $265,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
