Description: Agile5 Technologies is seeking a high-performing Release Train Engineer (RTE) to serve as the servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). This role is responsible for facilitating ART events, managing risks and dependencies, and driving relentless improvement across the value stream. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience optimizing the flow of value in a large-scale environment using Lean-Agile practices and will be an expert in preparing and executing Program Increment (PI) Planning for programs of 50+ FTE.
Release Train Engineer Job Duties:
Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) Clearance required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying.
Experience Requirements :
Education Requirements : Current SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification is required. Current SAFe Agilist (SA) Certification is required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

Location : On-site in the National Capital Region (Washington, DC, Suitland, MD and Alexandria, VA.)
Status : Full time
Schedule : Day shift, Monday-Friday

Release Train Engineer Job Duties:
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART and Solution Train using Program/Solution Kanban and other information radiators.
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering the preparation of vision and backlogs via pre- and post-PI Planning meetings.
- Facilitate the PI Planning event and assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
- Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation and the roll-up to Epics.
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
- Help manage risks, track dependencies, and escalate impediments to ensure smooth delivery.
- Improve the flow of value through value streams using the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps.
- Facilitate system and solution demos to validate integrated work.
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops and assess the agility level of the ART/Solution Train.
- Utilize Jira as the primary tool for tracking work, metrics, and progress across the ART.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience utilizing Jira to track work for an Agile Release Train.
- Proven experience previously serving as an RTE on a program of similar scope with 50+ FTE.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management and facilitating large-scale Agile ceremonies.
Education Requirements : Current SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification is required. Current SAFe Agilist (SA) Certification is required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
Desired Skills / Qualifications :
- Deep understanding of the SAFe Program Board and dependency mapping.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret ART metrics (Velocity, Burn-down, Predictability Measure).
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in delivery.
