Responsibilities
- Serve as the MAJCOM lead for Personnel Parachute Program issues.
- This position supports the Combat Recovery Officer and Pararescue MFM in the execution of required PPPM responsibilities.
- The position ensures processes and roles/responsibilities between MAJCOM organizations with personnel parachute program equities are defined and understood (e.g., safety management, equipment management).
- Duties are primarily at Langley AFB, VA with TDYs to support personnel parachute program task.
- Monitor unit-level personnel parachute programs and adjudicate disputes pertaining to formal training.
- Consolidate, review, and perform trend analyses on all reported personnel parachute malfunctions, incidents, or other noteworthy events.
- Research proposed new equipment items for procurement availability, develop appropriation procedures for new and existing templated items and resolve any equipment delivery issues.
- Coordinate, schedule, and conduct site visits and/or analysis for new/existing parachutist weapons systems training and employment.
- Liaise with HAF, other MAJCOMs, ANG, Army, and Navy PPPMs.
Qualifications
- Must possess an Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Qualified military free fall (MFF) and static-line jumpmaster with jumpmaster currency within 10 years of appointment at PPPM.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited USSOCOM approved MFF jumpmaster course.
- 8 years of experience in a Battlefield Airmen AFSC, as a parachutist, to include Tactical Air Control Party, enlisted and officer, Pararescue, Combat Control, Special Reconnaissance, Combat Rescue Officer, and Special Tactics Officer.
- 2 years of NAF, MAJCOM, or HAF level staff experience.
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to pass a thorough background check.
- Must be willing to travel - if/when needed.
