WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
-Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position.
-Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
-Required Experience:
> For JUNIOR level: 2+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment. > For SENIOR level: 5+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment. > For ADVISOR level: 8+ years’ experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
100% travel position; candidates can be based anywhere in the US.
Must be available for travel to various USAF bases (CONUS and OCONUS).
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Government Points of Contact (POCs) for:
Design
Installation
Base access
Clearance
Escorts
Personnel and equipment
Ensure project tasks are completed on time.
Stakeholder Communications:
Assist the PM in maintaining:
Clear
Consistent
Timely
Accurate communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Support:
Provide input into distribution systems design (ISP/OSP).
Offer technical recommendations to program and operations teams.
Leadership:
Lead small implementation teams.
Manage specific work scopes at designated AF/SF bases.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with distribution systems (ISP/OSP) design and implementation:
Site Survey Reports
Preliminary and Critical Design documentation
As-built diagrams
Rack elevations
Circuit connectivity matrices
Knowledge of all aspects of fiber testing.
Thorough understanding of wired and general IT functions.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work effectively in a virtual teaming environment.
Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret:
Technical procedures
Documents
Governmental regulations
Strong commitment to teamwork; collaborative work attitude.
Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using MS Visio or related CAD tools.
Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Level Clearance required.
Work location: Remote with extensive travel requirements.
