Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused 202 Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist to provide Tier I/II technical support services at Eglin AFB. The selected candidate will support end users in a mission-critical DoD environment, ensuring reliable and secure IT operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Tier I/II technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based workstations and approved software applications.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and email issues.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory.
Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
Perform system imaging, software deployments, and patch updates.
Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions in ticketing systems.
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including application of security patches and DISA STIG requirements.
Assist with asset management, inventory tracking, and equipment lifecycle support.
Provide deskside, remote, and walk-in support to military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance (required).
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–4 years of professional experience in IT help desk or user support.
CompTIA Security+ certification (IAT Level II compliant) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
Familiarity with Active Directory account management.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a DoD environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD or Air Force environments.
Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices.
Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., MECM/SCCM).
Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell).
Experience supporting classified systems and secure facilities.
