BCT LLC is seeking a Junior Software Engineer. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with POLY. This position is located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

Role Description: The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring.
Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
Resolves software problem reports.
Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Open Source Software (OSS) and/or Commercial Off The-Shelf (COTS) Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Experience developing in Unix. Ability to perform shell scripting.
Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and Web Services implementation.
Software Engineer Responsibilities
Tasking includes authoring and maintaining benchmarks for high-performance computers; Writing test scripts;
Creating visualizations of test data;
Running tests on HPCs, gathering results, and authoring reports.
Qualification requirements include:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
Four (4) years of software experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a
Bachelor's degree.
Desired skills:
Strong C/C++, Bash and Python programming skills;
Experience developing with Java in a Unix environment;
Understanding of software unit and integration testing, bug reporting and tracking, documentation, and production software support and maintenance;
Comprehension of software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented programming, relational databases, scripting knowledge and an advanced level of development operations skill set;
Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites;
Experience using Jupyter notebooks and Matplotlib is a bonus;
Familiarity with RUST, CUDA and HIP is a bonus;
Familiarity with MPI and/or SHMEM is a bonus.
