Systems Engineer III – Cryptologic & Electronic Warfare Systems
Location: 1922 Regulus Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23461
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
Insight Global is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer III to support advanced Cryptologic Carry-On Equipment (COE) and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems within a mission‑critical Department of Defense environment. This role is focused on system-level engineering across the full system lifecycle, from requirements development and design through integration, security, testing, and long-term sustainment of complex EW capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep systems engineering expertise, a strong understanding of secure networks and operating systems, and experience supporting highly classified DoD programs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform system-level engineering for COE and EW systems across the entire system lifecycle, including:
Requirements definition and traceability
System architecture and design parameters
Development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS)
Risk identification and mitigation
Performance, reliability, and productivity analysis
Test planning, execution, and evaluation
Post‑delivery system sustainment and operational support
Support hardware and software configuration management, including:
Tracking defects, enhancements, requirements, risks, test results, and action items
Maintaining system baselines and documentation
Execute system and network security engineering activities, including:
Design and implementation of security controls
Configuration and enforcement of security policies across networks, hardware, and software
Operate within Windows and Linux environments, providing:
Linux system administration support
Troubleshooting and system hardening
Collaborate closely with systems engineering, cybersecurity, and program teams to ensure system integrity, compliance, and mission readiness
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
Active TS/SCI clearance
10+ years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering
2+ years of system-level engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
System design and architecture
CONOPS development
Risk assessment and mitigation
Performance analysis
Test and evaluation
Post‑delivery support of COE or EW systems
3+ years of experience in each of the following:
Operating systems: Windows and Linux
Linux system administration
Hardware and software configuration management
Network and system security, including implementation and enforcement of security controls
1+ year of experience supporting total lifecycle system design, or an equivalent academic background
Preferred Qualifications
Prior U.S. Navy experience
Experience within a relevant sub‑community
Compensation:
$52.88/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
