Located in Huntsville, AL, you will lead the integration of the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) into modern network architectures. This role is pivotal in transitioning the Army from legacy waterfall development to an Agile software approach, ensuring that converged mission command applications are mission-ready and cyber-survivable.
Key Responsibilities & CPCE Initiatives
- CPCE & Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) Integration: Perform electronics engineering processes to support the fielding of Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) hardware. You will ensure CPCE software-designed to replace legacy systems like the Command Post of the Future (CPOF) -is properly integrated with TSIv2 and TSIv3 server stacks.
- Mission Command Convergence (PdM M2TS): Provide expert engineering support to PdM M2TS for the convergence of warfighting function applications (fires, logistics, intel) onto a single common operating environment. This includes managing the underlying server hardware configurations and common data services.
- Agile Capability Drops: Facilitate the transition to a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. You will support the deployment of quarterly software "capability drops" into the CPCE architecture, ensuring hardware-software interoperability at each release.
- Network Performance & SIL Coordination: Conduct technical evaluations of network architectures using the CPCE System Integration Lab (SIL). You will use routed topologies and network simulators to troubleshoot hardware/software performance in representative fielded environments.
- Technical Assessments & Cyber Resilience: Perform risk assessments and technical evaluations of CPCE Increment 1 and Increment 2, focusing on maintaining a strong cybersecurity defense posture in contested environments.
- Cross-Organizational Synchronization: Interface with CPE C2IN leadership and Army-wide stakeholders to translate mission needs (ICDs, CDDs) into technical network solutions that reduce the training burden on Soldiers.
- Network Design: Proven experience in LAN/VLAN design and the management of Master and Tactical Data Nodes across Division and Corps echelons.
- Routing & Protocols: Proficiency with multicast and routing configurations (IPv4/IPv6) to support Data Dissemination Services (DDS) and Blue Force Tracker (BFT) connectivity.
- Virtualization & Hardware: Hands-on experience with VMware and server-based software architectures used to host CPCE mission command applications.
- Analysis Tools: Expert use of Wireshark or Sniffer for network protocol analysis and troubleshooting "disconnected, intermittent, or limited" (DDIL) bandwidth issues.
- RF & Tactical Comms: Knowledge of RF engineering and tactical electronics to support end-to-end voice and data transmission.
- Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of tactical network electronics engineering experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Testing, or related field. (Substitution: 13 years total experience).
- Clearance: Must hold and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
