Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N), located at Nellis AFB, NV. The primary focus of this role is to perform systems verification and validation (V&V) to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and readiness of JSE components and applications.
Impact
In this role, you will directly support mission-critical training and test operations by ensuring the continuous, secure, and efficient operation of multi-user computer networks and JSE systems. Your work in V&V, system configuration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis will help maintain operational integrity and support advanced modeling and simulation activities across classified environments.

- Conduct V&V assessments to ensure continuous operation and optimal performance of JSE networks, systems, and applications.
- Execute V&V tests of applications and networks using administrator and user accounts.
- Support system-wide software installations and allocate mass storage resources.
- Perform system and network configuration changes and testing across physical and virtual/server environments.
- Optimize system operation, analyze resource utilization, and conduct capacity planning.
- Assist users with system and application access, troubleshooting, and general usage.
- Evaluate system performance, reliability, and serviceability through user interaction and testing.
- Provide data-driven recommendations regarding hardware and software.
- Coordinate installation of new and upgraded software/hardware, including fail-safe and backup solutions.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for computing resource allocation.
- Ensure secure storage, backup, and archiving of data.
- Support JSE system test plan development, execution, data collection, and reporting.
- Document test results related to networks, applications, databases, configurations, and performance.
- Enforce information security best practices, especially within multi-level secure environments.
- Maintain vigilance to protect sensitive systems and data across classified enclaves.
What you must have
Education & Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in a related field, or
- 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a related field, or
- No experience required with a PhD or JD in a related field, or
- High school diploma/equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and integrated display systems.
- Knowledge of network system administration as applied to modeling and simulation environments.
- Understanding of information security best practices.
- Ability to perform configuration management and collaborate with configuration managers.
- Ability to write compliant processes and technical documentations for simulator technicians and engineers.
- Ability to create and maintain data-logging procedures and test reports, identify system issues, and submit deficiency reports (DRs).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must have held an active Top Secret clearance (or related) within the last 24 months.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computing, Engineering, Math, or Physical Sciences.
- Certifications such as Network+, Linux+, ITIL Foundations, Security+, Project+, or A+.
- Experience supporting weapon system networks as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator.
- Experience operating and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience supporting combat training units or major military training exercises.
- Experience with networks and software used in military combat Modeling & Simulation environments.
- Experience contributing to system design or architecture.
- Familiarity with Agile software practices.
