Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates to lead a diverse team of cloud engineers, systems integrators, data engineers and Kubernetes administrators for a hybrid cloud platform, with an emphasis on automation (Infrastructure as Code). The role will primarily focus on deploying and operating a hybrid cloud data management platform for use by data scientists, data engineers and machine learning engineers. This Lead will oversee team activities and will act as the primary liaison to the customer. This role will include presentations, document preparation, reports and financial oversight of Platform operation resource utilization. Moderate travel may be required for attending meetings or directing technical activities between Springfield, Virginia, and St. Louis, Missouri. Significant portions of the work will involve classified networks and data, and so the candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and implementation plans for a hybrid cloud data management platform.
  • Develop and execute schedules for platform installation and updates.
  • Oversee observability of the platform including metrics, logs, alerts and dashboards.
  • Develop and manage capacity plans for all aspects of the data platform, both on premises resources as well as those in the cloud.
  • Manage a customer facing help desk for technical and administrative customers.
  • Identify required upgrades and improvements that are necessary to maintain high availability and best-in-class tooling for the government customer.
  • Coordinate work with NGA infrastructure engineers for authentication, authorization, and other security interactions between the Data Management Platform and the NGA enterprise.


Required Experience
  • 15+ years' experience supporting the DoD and/or IC community.
  • 15+ years' experience leading technical teams, both R&D and Operations.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience working with data
    engineering platforms and geospatial data
  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or equivalent.
  • Experience in AWS infrastructure and VMware TKG Kubernetes, including methods for high availability and disaster mitigation / recovery.
  • Experience working with geospatial data.
  • Experience managing data engineers, cloud engineers, Kubernetes administrators and systems integration engineers.
  • Experience writing and/or reviewing technical reports to ensure they meet the desired government requirement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at the senior organizational level.
  • Experience developing innovative technical solutions to meet DoD and/or IC requirements.


Required Skills
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership to medium/large organizations.
  • Agile methodologies, tools, and management of multiple teams
  • DevSecOps processes, tools, and management experience
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Operations technologies, processes, and data management techniques
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Proven superior communication skills at a senior organizational level.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with customers to elicit and discuss potential future improvements to their mission, within this task and those peripheral to it.
