Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and diagnostic assessments using DSM‑5 criteria.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy using diverse therapeutic modalities.
- Deliver crisis intervention, behavioral analysis, and substance use education.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Provide follow‑up care for individuals returning from inpatient or acute mental health treatment.
- Offer mental health services for individuals experiencing trauma, abuse, suicidal ideation, psychosis, or other acute behavioral health concerns.
- Coordinate referrals for higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
Program Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide guidance and oversight to multidisciplinary team members involved in behavioral health services.
- Support the implementation and management of integrated mental health treatment programs, including Modified Therapeutic Community models.
- Serve as a behavioral health consultant to medical staff, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in case management activities, including community placement, hospital coordination, and after‑care planning.
- Assist with performance improvement initiatives and risk management activities related to behavioral health.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within electronic health record systems.
- Prepare written evaluations, progress summaries, and treatment updates as required.
- Provide regular reporting on individuals with significant mental health needs or those requiring enhanced monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards, including HIPAA and privacy regulations.
Training & Education
- Develop and deliver training for staff on behavioral health topics such as suicide prevention, crisis response, trauma, and mental health awareness.
- Provide clinical education to team members, interns, and support staff as applicable.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to urgent behavioral health needs.
- Attend staff meetings, clinical reviews, and interdisciplinary case conferences.
- Maintain required certifications, competencies, and ongoing professional development.
- Adapt to schedule changes, emergent situations, and evolving program needs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience practicing independently as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent independent licensure.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in the state of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clinical privileges as required by the organization.
Preferred Experience
- Experience implementing or managing mental health treatment programs or Modified Therapeutic Community models.
- Experience in residential, correctional, or secure‑care healthcare settings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities including cognitive‑behavioral, trauma‑informed, and creative therapies.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multilingual environments.
- Proficiency using electronic health records and common software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage complex caseloads.
- Understanding of confidentiality regulations and professional ethics.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals during emergencies.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent situations.
- May require evening, weekend, holiday, or on‑call work depending on program needs.
- Must be able to perform CPR and other emergency interventions.
