Role Overview
An organization supporting Intelligence Community missions is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support. The selected candidate will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering practices to define system architectures, manage interfaces, and ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements to technical solutions.
This role supports complex, mission-critical systems and involves developing and maintaining system models, performing computer-based simulations, and collaborating closely with government, military, SETA, and contractor stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to support system architecture definition, integration, and analysis
• Develop, maintain, and analyze SysML-based system models using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent tools
• Ensure requirements traceability from customer needs through system design and verification artifacts
• Utilize digital engineering tool chains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows
• Conduct computer-based simulations to analyze and optimize system performance
• Support interface definition and management across system elements and external dependencies
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Government, Military, SETA, and contractor teams
• Contribute to technical reviews, impact assessments, and engineering documentation
• Support project planning, execution, and risk management activities across program lifecycles
Required Qualifications
• Practical experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
• Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE tools
• Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and integrated tool chains
• Experience using high-level programming languages (e.g., Python)
• Demonstrated engineering technical depth and project management experience
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary, customer-facing environments
• Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required prior to start date)
• U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
• Experience conducting Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessments
• Familiarity with NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methodologies
• Evidence of strong customer relationships and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working across multiple contracts and geographic locations
• Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
• Minimum experience requirements:
