Overview
We are seeking a ServiceNow Service Portal Expert to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced ServiceNow solutions. In this role, you will architect scalable portal experiences, support complex integrations, streamline workflows, and guide stakeholders across technical and business domains. Your work directly supports high‑visibility, mission‑critical programs.
Key Responsibilities:
ServiceNow Architecture & Development
- Lead architectural design of complex ServiceNow solutions with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Design, develop, and enhance custom ServiceNow Service Portals with intuitive UI/UX.
- Create custom widgets using AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Implement and customize portal themes, branding, and page layouts.
- Configure and optimize ServiceNow Workspaces, including layouts, components, and visualizations.
Integrations & Data Processing
- Design and implement solutions to ingest and process XML data feeds into ServiceNow records.
- Develop mechanisms for generating outbound XML data in compliance with external system requirements.
- Utilize ServiceNow integration capabilities including REST/SOAP APIs, Scripted REST APIs, and Integration Hub.
Technical Leadership & Best Practices
- Serve as the technical advisor on all ServiceNow implementation components.
- Oversee coding standards, configuration best practices, and workflow automation.
- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability.
- Maintain CMDB integrity and guide ITOM architecture in alignment with ITIL and security standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and support roadmap development.
- Facilitate workshops and contribute to migration planning.
- Develop technical documentation including process flows, design documents, and architecture diagrams.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, estimates, and technical content.
- Author and review white papers, reports, dashboards, and related artifacts.
Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor junior team members and guide technical reviews.
- Lead process reviews, postmortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Remain current with ServiceNow certifications and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Technical training, relevant certification(s), or degree.
Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills:
- Deep expertise in ServiceNow architecture, development, and platform best practices.
- Proven experience developing ServiceNow Service Portals and custom widgets.
- Experience configuring and optimizing Workspaces.
- Strong proficiency in:
- JavaScript
- AngularJS
- HTML/CSS
- Extensive experience with XML ingestion, transformation, and generation.
- Strong integration skills with REST, SOAP, and web services.
- Strong understanding of ITSM, ITIL, modern web technologies, and cloud architecture principles.
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle stages.
- Strong analytic, debugging, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to generate estimates, build deployment plans, and rapidly learn new technologies.
Required Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) - or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Additional ServiceNow certifications strongly preferred.
