ARS is currently seeking skilled professionals with experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) sector for a Full-Stack Developer role in Norfolk, VA. These roles offer excellent opportunities for individuals to support NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT), the Alliance’s premier agent for change—driving, facilitating, and advocating continuous improvement of Alliance capabilities to maintain and enhance the military relevance and effectiveness of the Alliance.
All roles will collaborate with ACT to provide appropriate support to NATO missions and operations; lead NATO military transformation; improve relationships, interaction, and cooperation with partners, nations, and international organizations. ACT leads concept development, capability development, training and lessons-learned initiatives, and supports policy development within NATO.

Responsibilities Include:
- Build containerized application tools following the 12-Factor App methodology, Test Driven
Development (TDD), and Extreme Programming (XP). - Develop products as part of a balanced agile team (Product Manager, Product Owner, UI/UX
Designer, and Data Scientists as applicable). - Design and implement REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Develop full-stack solutions using modern JavaScript, Python, and/or Java frameworks.
- Perform front-end development (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end development (e.g.,
Node.js, Django/Flask, SpringBoot). - Conduct database design and programming (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Work in a collaborative, pair programming environment as needed.
- Rapidly learn and apply new programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Support the creation of sustainable DevSecOps pipelines and agile delivery practices.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in full-stack development using JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in front-end development (React, Angular, etc.) and/or backend development (Node.js, Django/Flask, SpringBoot, etc.).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in database design/programming (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Experience in REST API design and development.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience in Microservices Architecture.
- Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience working in collaborative, agile teams.
- Experience delivering iterative releases in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
Position Requirements
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required to start. (All positions will require a NATO clearance as well).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience: Prior DoD or similar government contract experience is strongly preferred.
