Background Information: This full-time, onsite position supports the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy's East Coast open-air test range and provides real-time test and evaluation (T&E) services including data acquisition, instrumentation, data analysis, recording, test management, and airspace management to DoD and commercial customers in support of real-time aircraft and weapon system testing and fleet training exercises. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned projects.
- Support real-time flight test operations.
- Work with teams of engineers and scientists to create software programs to process live data from various instrumentation sources to present to flight test engineers in real-time.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, software users, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Conduct independent research to resolve complex technical issues.
- Utilize debugging tools and techniques within Windows and Linux development environments to identify and resolve software defects.

Education, Certifications, License, and Skill Requirements:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- Experience with multiple coding languages such as Linux/Unix, C/C++/C#, Java, Python desired.
- Experience using Git version control desired.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and Windows development environments (Visual Studio, etc.).
- Ability to work with customers to identify requirements.
- Ability to work well with a team of software engineers and other subject matter specialists.
- Able to work within a large existing code base.
- General computer maintenance skills (hardware/software installation and troubleshooting).
- Occasional off-hours mission support required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass drug screening.
Security Clearance:
- Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
- Employment and start date contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance
