Exciting Opportunity: Join Our Team as a Mission & Engineering Support Systems Administrator at JNWC!

As a CACI Mission & Engineering Support Systems Administrator supporting the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) superiority for the Department of Defense, interagency, and coalition partners. Located at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, the JNWC is the DOD's Center of Excellence for Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) and PNT capabilities integration.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. You will ensure that all systems are running efficiently and effectively, providing a stable and secure environment for all users. Additionally, you will be tasked with providing comprehensive documentation and technical specifications to IT staff, aiding in the planning and implementation of new or upgraded IT infrastructure. Your role will also involve capacity, storage planning, and ensuring optimal database performance, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the organization's IT systems. Responsibilities:

  • Support National Security: Contribute to enabling PNT superiority for the Department of Defense, interagency, and coalition partners.
  • System Maintenance: Ensure the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
  • Efficient Operations: Provide routine OS, software, and application support to the DevOps team, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflows.
  • Data Management: Track, version, deploy, and rollback database changes to both production and development databases, maintaining data integrity and system stability.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Cybersecurity: Configure databases to meet cybersecurity requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and adhere to database best practices.
  • Automation: Automate and standardize repetitive tasks with version-controlled scripts and procedures, improving efficiency and reducing manual errors.
  • Query Analysis: Analyze and write complex queries to support gathering metrics, troubleshooting application issues, and diagnosing performance issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with members of the development, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks, enforce software quality standards, and deploy applications to non-production and production environments.
  • Monitoring: Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.


Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Must possess a current existing Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: 3, 5, or 7 years of relevant experience; multiple levels needed.
  • Leadership Experience: Prefer prior leadership or management experience.
  • Certifications: Must have one of the following certifications or equivalent: CompTIA Server+/CompTIA Security+/Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
