Overview

Goldbelt Apex LLC seeks a highly experienced Occupational Health Specialist to spearhead cutting-edge research and innovation within the Defense Health Agency Hearing Center of Excellence. This opportunity will allow you to pioneer the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing and balance injuries.

Summary:

Goldbelt Apex is hiring for an Occupational Health Specialist to join the team.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct workplace hazard assessments, selecting hearing protectors, noise exposure assessments including area and impulsive noise measurements, noise dosimetry, and engineering noise control and running hearing conservation programs.
  • Assess the effectiveness of hearing conservation programs.
  • Select hearing protectors based on communication and protection needs.
  • Develop training and implementation and translational science programs.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Expertise in hearing conservation and DOD hearing conservation program
  • Experience with using DOEHRS-IH to input surveys.
  • Expertise in hearing loss prevention and surveillance strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Minimum Qualifications:
  • M.P.H. or M.S. in Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Health Science or equivalent. Preferred Joint Professional Military Education I qualification)
  • Minimum ten (10) year military industrial hygiene experience with an operational background
  • Preferred an additional 5 years' experience with DOD or Service level program and/or policy development.
  • Experience in DOD audiology hearing standards, hearing protection programs, human factors engineering/human systems integration/acoustic engineering, and hearing conservation program management.
  • Knowledge of American National Standards Institute standards on assessment of hearing protectors, sound level meters, and field attenuation estimation systems.
  • Experience with hearing protector fit-testing systems
  • US Citizen (able to obtain SECRET if needed)

Pay and Benefits
The maximum salary for this position is $100,000 annually.
