The Operations Analyst provides analytical, operational, and programmatic support to federal program personnel in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. This role focuses on evaluating program performance, improving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic planning efforts across technical security and operational initiatives. The Operations Analyst works closely with federal managers, technical teams, and external stakeholders to support project execution, policy development, operational coordination, and informed decision-making in support of NNSA mission objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides analytical support to federal program personnel.
  • Analyzes the program from an operational effectiveness, efficiency, and cost perspective.
  • Reviews and models operating procedures and identifies, documents, and supports performance improvement initiatives and activities.
  • Provides operational and strategic planning support, including the analysis and preparation of relevant policies.
  • Assists personnel in managing projects and procurements.
  • Supports Team Managers with administrative and operational needs of operations, including surge team operational support to NNSA elements in the field.
  • Reviews technical documents, including project proposals, program plans, and monthly technical security reports.
  • Prepares and distributes office correspondence, briefings, weekly activity reports, visit requests, and other office documents as required.
  • Coordinates program office management activities including federal managers' schedules, meetings, correspondence, travel arrangements, records management, and other office duties as assigned.
  • Conducts independent research, obtains information from various sources, and performs special studies as needed to develop innovative solutions to complex Technical Security challenges.
  • Arranges schedules, venues, and participants for periodic program reviews.
  • Actively participates in meetings and, at a minimum, captures and reviews meeting minutes, action items, and attendance.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external program participants in writing, by phone, and in person to support the Federal Program Manager in accomplishing critical program-related decisions.
  • tracking inventory and high-value assets; conducting equipment analysis; supporting education development and awareness initiatives; assisting with equipment development efforts; maintaining and supporting ITC relationships; participating in and coordinating site visits; supporting numerous special projects; developing white papers on technical topics; and managing vendor relations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of experience managing operations, projects, high-value assets, and/or training programs.
  • Five (5) years of experience supporting NNSA.
  • A Bachelor's degree, Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt may be accepted in lieu of three (3) years of required experience managing operations, projects, high-value assets, and/or training programs.
  • Active Q or TS clearance with SCI eligibility, or a favorably adjudicated Tier V personnel security background investigation completed within the last 4.5 years prior to proposed entry onto contract.


LOCATION: This position is on-site in Washington, DC.

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate's related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
