Seeking a highly qualified Senior Systems Administrator to join a mission-focused team that maintains applications, services, microservices, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and support services. The effort requires the maintenance and enhancement of an application and underlying services/microservices’ application’s current capability while identifying future capability needs and eliminating overlaps. The team will continuously improve sustainment and development in order to reinvest resources to provide new capabilities and improve the effectiveness, quality, and robustness of the underlying technology. Our applications are focused on intelligence analysis and collection management directly supporting intelligence analysts and operators across the intelligence community and Combatant Commands.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems. Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets. Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning. In addition, responsible for the design and implementation of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware. Possess an expert working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Can analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
Participates in developing and delivering training as requested by the government to support applications.
Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problem.
Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Installs/loads operating system and application software.
Isolate and resolve of hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Active TOP SECRET/SCI with a CI polygraph test.
Must be DoD 8570 compliant at IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level 2.
Experience working on a development team under DoD/DIA DevSecOps process.
Experience with multiple configuration management tools and resources.
Understanding of Oracle and/or CENTOS architecture builds, Cloud, full-stack, OpenShift, and Java.
Familiar with GitLab, Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, Nexus, Jenkins and other DevSecOps tools.
Must be analytical and effectively able to prioritize needs, requirements, and other issues.
Education
Desired Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or information management, or 12 years of comparable work experience.
10 years or more of program/application operations experience.
Experience in the Intelligence Community.
Strong risk management skills, excellent communication, teamwork and conflict management skills.
