Summary:

The Systems Engineer will provide senior technical implementation for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management (MECM) capabilities within an Enterprise strategy.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Identifying, assessing, and resolving MECM-related services, such as Operating System Deployment (OSD) task sequences, driver packages, and software deployment
  • Supporting, updating, and troubleshooting Enterprise-provided offline/stand-alone OSD image capability
  • Supporting customer Asset Management team through MECM and Active Directory queries & reports, using MECM Reporting Services, PowerShell, and other provided tools
  • Supporting customer Endpoint Protection & Compliance team through MECM and other provided tools to automate and report on OS patching, security configuration implementation, and vulnerability mitigation
  • Carrying an advanced understanding of Windows Active Directory functionality and industry best practices
  • Configuring and supporting Group Policy implementation to drive endpoint management and user experience
  • Serving as a technical escalation point for a team of Associate-level customer support technician
  • Providing alternate engineering support to the customer's local services cluster (VMWare & NetAPP-based)
  • Supporting an enterprise-wide strategy for BitLocker and Microsoft BitLocker Administration & Monitoring (MBAM) implementation and maintenance
  • Be willing to familiarize with and support Lexmark MarkVision multi-function printer endpoint management platform
  • Providing planning and engineering guidance to IT infrastructure planners
  • Creating, designing, or scripting tools and playbooks that can automate configuration and deployment processes
  • Reviewing, editing, publishing, and maintaining documentation of engineering and design activities in agreed upon and accepted industry standard format
  • Identifying and recommending tools and processes to improve reliability of desired endpoint configuration
  • Providing technical or procedural recommendations to address long-term/chronic problem resolution
  • Assisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Have a demonstrated ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing, as well as have a positive customer service attitude
  • Strong proactive team player

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 12 years with High School Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD
  • IAT2 Certification
  • Must hold an active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MCSE related to candidate's work area
  • Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate's work area
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administration Expert
  • At least 3 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program
  • Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
