As a Human Resources Specialist (Compensation) at the GS-0201-11/12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- If selected at the GS-11 level, the below responsibilities will be performed in a developmental capacity
- Serves as a Project Officer and subject matter expert, managing and directing the full lifecycle of Federal prevailing rate wage surveys, including full-scale and wage change surveys.
- Plans, organizes, and oversees all pre-data collection processes, coordinating with management, Local Wage Survey Committees (LWSCs), labor representatives, and DoD and non-DoD agencies to ensure timely completion of all survey tasks.
- Acts as a professional wage DCA for the Federal Government, conducting surveys throughout the U.S. and its territories to gather data for establishing and adjusting Federal Wage System (FWS) wage schedules.
- Analyzes complex survey data, evaluates supporting job and pay information (e.g., bonuses, lump-sum payments), recommends best-fit trend lines, and defends the statistical treatment of the data.
- Conducts final reviews and evaluations of wage surveys to determine prevailing wage levels and prepares exhibits and recommendations for the DoD Wage Committee.
- Provides authoritative advice, training, and technical guidance to LWSCs, DCAs, and managers on all aspects of the survey process, including job matching, data acceptability, and regulatory compliance.
