Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to support application development, deployment, and infrastructure automation efforts within a high-side network environment. This role supports the integration of intelligence capabilities into testing and operational systems deployed across hybrid on-premise and cloud architectures.
The ideal candidate has hands-on DevOps experience, strong Linux fundamentals, and working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation tools. This position provides the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers while continuing to develop advanced DevOps and cloud-native expertise in a secure, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and maintain highly available applications in secure environments
Support Kubernetes and/or HashiCorp Nomad clusters for workload orchestration
Assist in implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent tools
Perform system monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting to ensure operational stability
Support container security scanning and remediation using tools such as Trivy or similar
Assist cybersecurity teams in remediation efforts, patching, and compliance activities (e.g., OS updates, STIG implementation)
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and pipeline-related issues
Support PKI certificate integration and authentication mechanisms
Maintain configuration management of deployment artifacts and environments
Participate in Agile development processes and sprint activities
Minimum Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance (CI Poly preferred or willingness to obtain)
Ability to work onsite in a SCIF environment (Herndon, VA)
5-8 years of professional experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or related field
Experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications using Kubernetes and Docker
Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash
Experience with Linux system administration (RedHat, Rocky, Alma Linux, etc.)
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and load balancing concepts
Experience with Git or other source control tools
Understanding of DevSecOps best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
Security+ or equivalent certification
Experience integrating static code analysis tools (GitLab SAST, SonarQube, etc.)
Exposure to Apache NiFi
Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
Familiarity with Docker STIGs and CONMON programs
RHCSA, LPIC, CKA, or Docker certifications
Experience in secure government or intelligence environments
