Job Overview

The Senior Human Resources Manager is a strategic business partner responsible for designing, influencing, and executing people and organizational strategies that drive performance, enable growth, and strengthen leadership effectiveness. This role partners closely with senior leaders and functional stakeholders to deliver high-impact HR solutions across culture, talent, performance, and organizational effectiveness.

The HR Sr. Manager builds strong, collaborative relationships and applies sound business judgment to anticipate and address current and emerging organizational needs. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is a key member of a diverse, high-performing HR leadership team.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Strategic Partnership & Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions that strengthen collaboration, accountability, and achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Partner with operational leaders and site HR teams to ensure consistent, compliant, and values-based HR practices across the organization.
  • Anticipate workforce and organizational needs and proactively design solutions aligned with business strategy.

Talent, Performance & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead and execute initiatives across culture and engagement, performance management, talent development, leadership development, and organizational design.
  • Drive change management efforts, including workforce transitions, restructuring, and culture transformation.
  • Develop and implement workforce and succession planning strategies aligned with long-term business goals.

HR Operations & Compliance
  • Oversee and ensure effective execution of core HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, investigations, performance management, recognition, engagement, and training.
  • Interpret and recommend improvements to HR policies, processes, and practices to ensure alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; proactively identify risks and recommend best practices.


Data, Insights & Execution Excellence
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal HR teams and external vendors to lead HR system implementations and integrations, ensuring new capabilities align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable value.
  • Leverage HR data, analytics, and trends to inform decision-making and optimize human capital strategies.
  • Make timely, high-quality decisions in complex or ambiguous situations with limited precedent.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional HR projects with strong planning, execution, and follow-through.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible HR experience within the past 8 years in Aerospace & Defense and/or a government contracting environment.
  • 3+ years in an HR leadership role within a mid- to large-sized organization.
  • Demonstrated success coaching, influencing, and partnering with leaders at all levels.
  • Proven experience leading organizational change, workforce transitions, and culture initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into practical, results-driven HR solutions.
  • Expertise using HR processes, systems, and analytics to drive business and employee outcomes.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and/or Special Program Access, as required.

Preferred:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience as a Senior HR Manager or Director with responsibility across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and HR technology (e.g., Dayforce).
  • Experience operating effectively in a complex, matrixed organization.
