This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC JEMINI program supporting the development of future missile defense capabilities. The candidate will primarily be responsible for software development using Java.
Essential Functions:
• Interact with others using strong verbal and written communication skills
• Work independently or with a small group
• Be flexible in a highly dynamic, ever-changing environment
• Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for a large, distributed system written in Java
• Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large codebase
• Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code
• Assist with design, benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the system's overall efficiency
• Design, develop, test, and implement automation tools
Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to be cleared at the TS/SCI security clearance
• 3+ years of Java experience
• Strong skills in both oral and written communication
• Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced team setting, combined with knowledge of software practices and coding standards
• Strong problem-solving skills, such as reviewing performance issues, diagnosing the root cause, and proposing and developing effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
• A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, with the eligibility to be cleared at SCI clearance, is highly preferred
• Applicants with a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application are highly desirable. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
• Experience working as part of an Agile team
• Familiarity with Java Spring
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of server-side development and message passing
• Experience developing enterprise applications
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks
• Use of common software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams
• Command and control system application development
• Previous experience with message translation software
• Automated test and pipeline development experience
• Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
