Potential tasks include:
- Provides engineering expertise and technical support to the SCaN Mission and Stakeholder Engagement functional area, as well as other SCaN functional areas as requested, including the following activities:
- Engagement with new missions, including NASA, commercial, and other government missions
- Drafting Service Level Agreements and support of the agreement and onboarding processes
- Managing mission data and information in a database
- Providing independent assessment of network feasibility studies
- Supporting the handover process between mission onboarding and operations
- Serves as interface with missions and networks, and SCaN program executives. Provides regular communication with major stakeholders of upcoming milestones and deliverables, requests data and metrics, and facilitates routine communication and information sharing
- Interfaces across the SCaN program portfolio to align engineering principles and policies, and integrate Mission and Stakeholder Engagement priorities across all SCaN functional areas
- Supports mission milestone readiness reviews and other future mission integration efforts, including human space flight missions, as needed
- Manages mission risks for dissemination at the Program and Agency level. As needed, develops new risks, provides cross-cutting risk assessments, and maintains risk database for Mission and Stakeholder Engagement
- Functions within the agile processes and practices as feasible within the nature of the work
- Generates presentations, charts, graphs, dashboard, correspondence, spreadsheets and other similar documents related to mission engagement and onboarding
- Proofreads and provides technical editing to a number of deliverables. Compiles feedback and comments from multiple stakeholders into a cohesive message.
- Disseminates technical and operational information for external audiences, including other NASA organizations, commercial partners, federal agencies, policymakers, and international partners
- Provides updates as needed to SCaN's functional area process and engineering documents
- Manages and uploads documentation and materials to centralized repositories (Sharepoint, Teams, and other NASA repositories).
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates activities and processes to support key activities and meetings such as project and program reviews (attending meetings as appropriate). Tracking and following up on actions of responsible parties.
Education/Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in an engineering field, such as systems engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 or more of relevant work experience is required.
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Ability to multi-task and successfully meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Team player as well as able to work independently.
- Must be U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a government issued Secret clearance. • Some travel may be necessary.
- This position is located onsite at NASA HQ in DC. This is expected to be at least 3 days onsite/week, up to 5 in order to support upcoming Agency initiatives. Some telework may be possible.
