Responsibilities
BCore is seeking a tester to join an established, high performing team supporting 2-3 web-based applications that feature an extensive user interface (UI) for a large number of end users, as well as organizations leveraging web service offerings for the applications. The ideal candidate will have between 3-5 years of testing experience, both in performing manual testing of web-based applications as well as testing automation experience. The candidate will work on a team comprised of developers, database administrators, systems engineers, security engineers, as well as program managers and a scrum master. The ideal candidate will be familiar with agile principles, specifically scrum. The candidate will be joining a team of two testers currently supporting the applications, and will be expected to master testing on all the applications to ensure that the applications have sufficient test coverage. The typical work week for the candidate is 40 hours (eight-hour days), with core hours being from 9 AM to 3 PM daily. Some flexibility may be negotiated in the daily hours total by day based on other obligations that the candidate may have (e.g., family duties).

Responsibilities:
- Work with the team's developers, DBAs, systems engineers, security engineers, program managers, and the other test team members on testing tasks assigned in Jira.
- Ensuring that all testing tasks assigned to them are thoroughly tested and documented in their assigned Jira tasks, and that their tasks (based on either manual or automated testing) are moved along in the Jira workflow
- Contributing to test planning, test case design, and documentation
- Participate in every-other-day scrum stand-ups where team members discuss the status of their assigned tasks
- Participate in monthly retrospective sessions to discuss what they liked, what they learned, and what they lacked in the past month-long sprint
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or the equivalent testing experience
- Qualifying testing experience of only between 3-5 years
- Strong knowledge of manual testing (functional, exploratory, regression) of web-based applications
- Strong knowledge of automated testing using Selenium
- Experience in API testing
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Software development experience with front-end applications and web services
- Basic Proficiency in at least one programming language/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Knowledge of AWS
- Knowledge of performance testing tools
