Basic Requirement for Supervisory Environmental Specialist:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (You must upload transcripts)

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes establishing, managing, and coordinating environmental review and compliance programs in accordance with applicable federal, state and local statutes and their implementing regulations such as NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, etc; establishing, validating and verifying data collection and performance measurement systems in support of strategic and annual environmental compliance performance plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. - Serves as supervisor and Branch Chief, Compliance Branch, Environmental and Natural Resources Division, Directorate of Public Works.
- Contributes significantly to forming, managing, supervising, and coordinating the DPW strategic direction, collection and measurement systems; improving business processes; involving stakeholders and customers; achieving organization/program results.
Conditions of employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
