At CODEplus we are seeking a Test Data Systems/Dynamics Analyst in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities:
As a Test Data Systems/Dynamics Analyst, your expertise will provide valuable insight into the development, test, and certification of propulsion systems at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). In this role, you will provide technical oversight in the evaluation and design of liquid engine elements.
Primary job duties include engaging with propulsion system development teams to provide support related to basic data management and data analysis of high-speed data acquired from engine and component level testing of advanced propulsion systems. Data management shall include acquiring, converting, processing, and packaging high-speed data from propulsion system testing, as well as reviewing and verifying the results. You will also be responsible for development of the data acquisition systems (hardware and software) to meet mission specific requirements. Input into the instrumentation needs for engine and component testing will be required.
Job duties also include engaging with vehicle development teams to provide insight on liquid engine rocket propulsion systems, as well as producing independent analyses. You will perform dynamic analyses of engine elements, as well as assessing the rotordynamic characteristics of high-speed turbomachinery. Additionally, you will collaborate with liquid engine vendors on integrated development flight hardware and associated ground test equipment, effectively communicating qualification test requirements and verifying compliance with specification requirements.
A BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience is required. Degree from an ABET accredited institution is preferred. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum 4 years of experience; Master’s with at least 8 years of experience, or a BS with at least 10 years of experience.
Required Skills:
Experience in the application of digital signal analysis techniques on high-speed test data.
Proficiency in Python software development, as well as experience in signal analysis and processing.
Familiarity with one or more major commercial finite element code such as NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or ANSYS is Required.
Desired Skills:
Experience with the signal processing software PC-Signal is highly desired.
Experience in the development and application of high-speed data acquisition hardware (such as National Instruments) is desired.
Experience with NASA standards and MSFC Specifications, as well as qualification / certification requirements and processes associated with rocket propulsion systems and human-rated vehicles is also highly desired.
