Role Overview
- Principal Software Engineer supporting a geospatial customer in St. Louis
- On-site, full-time role
- Supports modernization of geospatial-intelligence core services
- Works in secure cloud environments using Agile development practices
Responsibilities
- Design, create, maintain, and improve software code and databases
- Technical delivery across software development: assessments, design/engineering, Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, application development (front-end and server-side), API development, testing, security/accreditation, system integration, operations/sustainment, documentation/template maintenance
Knowledge & Skills
- Full lifecycle software development
- Principal-level experience developing, implementing, and leading software applications and teams
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical/junior audiences
- Test-driven development in Agile with CI/CD and automated test procedures
Education / Experience
One of the following:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) + 13 years software engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) + 15 years software engineering experience
- 17 years equivalent experience may substitute for a technical degree
Technical Skills
- Python enterprise application development
- High-performance applications in React.js
- API development
- Web services architecture, design, and development
- PostgreSQL database design
- AWS experience and specific AWS tools
