Position Summary
The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) executes security control validation, evidence collection, vulnerability remediation tracking, and continuous monitoring activities for classified mission systems. This role serves as the operational backbone of Risk Management Framework (RMF) execution, ensuring systems remain audit-ready and compliant with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Validate and assess security control implementation and effectiveness
• Collect, maintain, and manage RMF evidence and artifacts
• Track vulnerabilities and remediation actions to closure
• Support continuous monitoring activities and security posture reporting
• Assist with development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs)
• Support preparation for audits, inspections, CCRIs, and SAVs
• Identify control deficiencies and support corrective action planning
• Coordinate with engineers and system administrators to implement security controls
• Maintain artifact repositories and ensure documentation accuracy
• Support ATO and ATO renewal activities
• Provide regular reporting on system compliance status
• Support incident response and security impact assessments as required

Required Qualifications
• Experience performing ISSO functions in DoD or classified environments
• Knowledge of RMF processes, control validation, and continuous monitoring
• Experience with vulnerability tracking and remediation efforts
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to manage RMF artifacts and evidence repositories
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to operate in mission-critical, classified environments

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting NC3, DRSN, or STRATCOM-aligned systems
• Prior experience supporting CCRI or SAV inspections
• Knowledge of classified system compliance requirements
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining audit-ready RMF documentation
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and compliance frameworks
