Space Mission Protection Analyst
Senior-Level (10+ Years) | Colorado Springs, CO | TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

A Day in the Life - What You'll Do
• Maintain real-time situational awareness across the space domain to coordinate, de-conflict, and integrate mission protection actions across national security space programs.
• Execute mission protection activities supporting the evolving Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission and space object catalog operations.
• Apply orbital mechanics and astrodynamics principles to real-world satellite operations, maneuver analysis, and orbit determination challenges.
• Collaborate with space operations centers, acquisition offices, and U.S. Government agencies to interpret and implement space policy, standards, and mission protection procedures.
• Develop, refine, and sustain processes, procedures, and resources to enhance mission protection decision-making and operational readiness.
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Space Domain Awareness (SDA), space mission protection, or national space policy
• Minimum 10 years of experience in orbital or space mission analysis
• Experience planning and conducting software testing to meet system requirements
• Experience developing and presenting briefings on satellite capabilities and space operations
• Experience coordinating and planning activities with mission partners
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics
• Ability to apply orbital mechanics to real-world operational problems
• Understanding of orbit determination and prediction methods
• Experience working with orbital state data
• Understanding of space object tracking sensors, networks, and associated data (capabilities and limitations)
• Ability to interpret, draft, discuss, and implement U.S. government-wide space policy in a collaborative environment
• Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems, particularly Red Hat Linux
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with technical and operational teams to develop cross-disciplinary solutions involving astrodynamics and sensor technologies
• Experience modeling with orbit dynamics tools and libraries
• Experience with orbit propagation techniques
• Experience with orbit determination and satellite maneuver analysis
• Familiarity with Space Force Astrodynamics Support Workstation (ASW) or similar tools
