Information Assurance (IA) Cyber Security Engineer
Location: Raven Rock Complex – Pennsylvania
Work Type: 100% Onsite
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $75–$85/hour (Negotiable; based on experience)
Overview
SNI Technology / Paladin is partnering with a confidential government client to identify an experienced Information Assurance (IA) Cyber Security Engineer. This individual will support government IT operations by providing Information Assurance guidance, managing accreditation processes, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Army cybersecurity standards.
The IA Engineer will play a key role in monitoring system security posture, managing RMF and vulnerability programs, and supporting secure onboarding and change management activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review and analyze network audit log files
Run and evaluate ACAS scans and vulnerability findings
Report IAVA status using NETOPS Reporting Tool
Interface with CTNOSC for incident and issue reporting
Provide Security Risk Assessment support
Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) program
Oversee the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program
Perform IA oversight activities and inspections
Represent IA at Change and Configuration Control Board meetings
Manage and assess hardware and software changes
Identify abnormalities, attacks, damage, and unauthorized network modifications
Support onboarding of new customers to the Joint Consolidated Server Room (JCSR)
Provide ongoing IA training and technical guidance to users and team members
Education, Certifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Five (5) years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Required Certifications:
CompTIA Security+ (Required)
Preferred Certifications:
eMASS Certification
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certification
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cybersecurity or Information Security
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge:
DoD and Army Information Assurance policies, standards, and regulations
Risk Management Framework (RMF), CON processes, and accreditation procedures
Security tools and technologies including ACAS, audit logging systems, and IAVA reporting
Network security principles, threat identification, and vulnerability management
Skills:
Reviewing and analyzing security audit logs and vulnerability scans
Managing IA and cybersecurity programs (RMF, vulnerability management, risk assessments)
Identifying network anomalies and security risks
Preparing cybersecurity documentation, reports, and accreditation packages
Abilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain IA policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and end users
Provide training, guidance, and technical direction to team members
