Position Overview
QinetiQ Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems & Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support the integration, quality assurance, delivery, and sustainment of a Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) for our Digital Night Vision Technology (DNVT) customer at Fort Belvoir VA. This hybrid role combines strategic system administration and optimization with hands-on field support, maintenance, and deployment for high-impact programs across multiple international locations.
This role will play a pivotal role in implementing enterprise-level tools for design, construction, and operational environments while also providing field-level support to ensure system readiness, security, and performance in diverse and often austere settings. As the prime contractor, the position will oversee all engineering efforts for the team and its teammates.

Responsibilities
Systems Operations & Administration duties:
- Lead the deployment and configuration of enterprise systems for construction management, design coordination, and project delivery.
- Serve as a system administrator for high-value tooling, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Optimize business processes by creating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP). Modernized automated solutions to reduce manual overhead and improve system usability.
- Analyze system performance using back-end metrics; pro-actively resolve technical issues and ensure business continuity.
- Manage customer relationships and system onboarding/offboarding procedures.
- Maintain technical documentation and system usage guidelines.
Field Engineering & Maintenance duties:
- Conduct on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance of surveillance, communication, and network systems.
- Perform site surveys, hardware configuration, and sustainment support CONUS/OCONUS environments.
- Support non-intrusive inspection systems (NIIS), including de-installation, training, and diagnostics.
- Provide training for end-users and system operators.
- Conduct temporary install/uninstall of CUAS systems in a variety of locations/environmental conditions to support client CUAS testing and evaluation operations.
- Conduct permanent/semi-permanent installs and continuing operational support, monitoring, and maintenance of CUAS systems in a variety of locations/environmental conditions to support client CUAS operational requirements.
- Make recommendations to the CUAS PM for equipment modifications/upgrades based on experience gained through testing and operational use of CUAS systems.
- Deploy overseas locations to perform technical inspections, system checks, fault diagnosis, identify causes of failures, and replace Least Replaceable Unit (LRU), test and restore CUAS systems to full functionality.
- Conduct basic programming of CUAS systems (install/upgrade load sets, firmware, software upgrades, etc.).
- Work with the CUAS Team to develop and conduct training on proper care, use, maintenance and preventive maintenance of systems.
Required Qualifications
- Network and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (5+ years).
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise systems technologies from deployment through sustainment.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in technical, mechanical, or network environments.
- Very knowledgeable in Linux operating system.
- Willingness to travel internationally, support extended work weeks, and work with on-site teams at Fort Belvoir, VA as needed.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and operate in varying temperature conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Trained in National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance, Cable termination and testing (RJ45, Fiber connectors), ICD and schematic reading.
- Certified IPC Specialist (CIS).
- BICSI Technician Certification
- Military veteran or defense contracting experience is a strong plus.
