Responsibilities
- Serving as primary support team member for the Operations Manager and Shift Manager to ensure daily operations are safe, effective, and performed in accordance with approved procedures.
- Interfacing with support organizations to understand planned operations within the facility and ensure activities are in compliance with facility safety basis authorized work.
- Performing troubleshooting and improvement activities for emerging issues within the operations management scope of responsibility to resolve issues and improve effectiveness in implementation of compliance requirements.
- Serving in a project management role as needed for coordination of large, cross-cutting activities within the facility that involve multiple interfaces that cross organizational lines.
- Presenting technical briefings or presentations, as required, that describe and explain approved facility operations and compliance implementation methods.
- Evaluating proposed modifications or changes against the approved Documented Safety Analysis via the Unreviewed Safety Question.
- Determining process to ensure changes are within the scope and methods appropriate for the facility.
- Provide on-call coverage for assigned weekends based upon a rotation with others in the group; on-call is as needed which may or may not require weekend work for the assigned weekend.
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.
- Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related, and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
- DOE Q Clearance preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
- If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position.
- WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
