Insight Global is seeking a Software Developer to support a long‑term federal program in North Charleston, SC. This role supports a mission‑critical, enterprise‑level application used for planning, logistics, and operational decision‑making for a U.S. government customer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative development team working on a modern, high‑impact system with ongoing feature development and enhancements.
Position Details
Location: North Charleston, SC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote; flexible schedule)
Type: 6‑month contract‑to‑hire
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (active clearance preferred)
Interview: One‑and‑done virtual interview (behavioral + live coding)
Start: ASAP (approx. 2‑week onboarding)
Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Conversion Salary: ~$110K–$130K+
What You’ll Do
Develop, enhance, and maintain full‑stack applications within an Agile environment
Write high‑quality, secure, well‑tested code
Refactor legacy components to improve performance and maintainability
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and team collaboration
Work with cross‑functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack
Contribute to documentation, testing, and deployment activities
Support DevOps and automation initiatives
Interpret static code analysis results and implement recommended fixes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
3+ years of professional software development experience
Full‑stack development experience using a mix of:
Front‑end: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, modern frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
Back‑end: Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar
Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
Experience with RESTful APIs
Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills
Experience with version control (Git)
Familiarity with DevOps / CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of the SDLC and Agile development
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Nice to Have
Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket/Bamboo
Automated testing experience
Experience with Java app servers
Previous work on federal/DoD programs
Active Secret clearance
