Duties

As a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (WG-5413-10) you will oversee and perform operations for receiving, storing, transferring, issuing, and accounting for bulk petroleum products needed to support all training exercises/missions and the daily requirements of the Garrison Training Center (GTC). The purpose is also to provide direction to lower-level employees on how to build and operate tank farms and service stations. The organizational location of this position is within Joint Forces Headquarters, Army National Guard (ARNG) Garrison Training Center.

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a 2 year trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • This is an Army National Guard dual status technician position which requires military membership.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
You must have the following General Experience requirements, experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position, knowledge of the procedures for issuing, receiving, storing, and inventorying fuel and the ability to keep accurate fuel records.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
You must meet the following Specialized Experience requirements, at least 18 Months specialized experience or training operating, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and overhauling fuel systems and components. Experience or training initiating and controlling the movement and storage of fuel supplies by operating high pressure systems with a series of terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of internal pipelines.
