Job Title: USPS Helpdesk and Manual Tester Specialist

Summary:
The USPS Helpdesk and Manual Tester Specialist provides technical support, hardware troubleshooting, software validation, and customer service for USPS operational systems. This hybrid position includes approximately 70 percent hardware-focused work and 30 percent software and application testing. The role involves validating and modifying web-based manifest applications, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting Tier 2 escalations.

Responsibilities:
Provide hardware support including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of USPS devices such as scanners, kiosks, label printers, and workstations.
Execute hardware verification and document defects or performance issues.
Conduct regression and exploratory testing for hardware-dependent workflows.
Provide Tier 2 assistance for escalated hardware issues.
Perform manual software testing for a web-based USPS manifest application.
Validate manifest data, fields, workflows, and system outputs.
Create and execute test cases, document results, and log defects.
Conduct functional, regression, and UI testing across multiple browsers.
Support release validation for updates, patches, and deployments.
Provide Tier 2 helpdesk support for application access issues, workflow problems, data discrepancies, and device failures.
Review system logs, perform data validation, and identify root causes of issues.
Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 or development teams when needed.
Maintain documentation of support tickets, findings, and resolutions.
Verify manifest data accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Collaborate with analysts, developers, and operations teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in manual testing, Tier 2 helpdesk, or technical support.
Strong diagnostic skills with hardware components and peripheral devices.
Experience testing web applications and data-driven workflows.
Ability to transition between hardware and software tasks efficiently.
Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in validation tasks.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service oriented with experience supporting non-technical users.
Ability to execute structured test plans and perform exploratory testing.
Basic understanding of networks, permissions, and browser-based systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with USPS, logistics, or government systems.
Background supporting or testing manifesting, logistics, or shipping applications.
Knowledge of Tier 2 troubleshooting processes and escalation procedures.
Familiarity with USPS hardware such as scanners, printers, and kiosks.

Work Environment:
Fast-paced environment supporting USPS hardware and web applications.
Hybrid role with hands-on hardware work and software testing duties.
Cross-functional collaboration with technical and operational teams.

Additional Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have lived in the United States for at least 7 years.
A Public Trust clearance is required for this position.
