Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineer I to support a federal client in Suffolk, VA.
Essential Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Develop well-written code using provided coding standards
• Testing software using a Test Procedure or Requirements document and documenting/correcting any errors found.
• Documents cold starts and develops software for new and revised virtual environment courses.
Required Skills & Experience
• 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and individually
• Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail
• Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
JavaScript (required), Java (preferred), microservices, containers, relational databases, and federated data systems like Kafka and HLA, able to work across front‑end/back‑end and adapt quickly in an agile, fast‑shifting environment.
Compensation:
$40/hr to $43hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
