Meet the Team
Government Security Services (GSS) is looking for a Data Center Engineer to work in several secure environments to build, deploy, and support mission essential networks. This candidate must have a TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph. The successful candidate will work closely with a team supporting our government customers by delivering innovative and compliant technical solutions tailored to their mission-critical needs.

Day to Day:
The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for implementing secure, scalable solutions in secure government environments. This role involves providing day-to-day customer service to end users within the facility and ensuring seamless network operations. The individual will serve as the primary engineering resource for a customer base of 20-30 users, addressing their technical needs and ensuring optimal network performance.
• Experience working on contracts mandating DIACAP, NISPOM and ICD requirements
• Proficient in configuring, deploying and troubleshooting network functions within a secure environment
• Collaboration: Be the bridge between the end users and the Government customer support system.

Minimum Qualifications:
• DoD 8570 level III certification or DoD 8140 equivalent
• Possess foundational networking knowledge and skills equivalent to the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification, including basic understanding of network fundamentals, IP addressing and subnetting, simple routing and switching concepts, and the ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues; capable of supporting small enterprise networks and assisting in network device configuration and maintenance.
• Experienced in troubleshooting and supporting windows desktop environments, including using built-in windows tools such as the start menu for system settings, troubleshooting utilities, and system management tasks; capable of resolving common desktop issues.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere/ESXi hypervisors and vSAN storage clusters, with skills in deploying, configuring, and managing virtual machines, storage policies, and clustered resources in enterprise environments.
• Experienced in managing and troubleshooting Linux and Windows operating systems within a networked compute environment, including understanding their interoperability, system configurations, and network interactions; capable of monitoring network connections and ensuring secure and e‘icient communication between these systems in enterprise environments.
• Experience with centralized logging and indexing platforms such as Splunk, including configuring data inputs, creating and managing indexes, developing SPL queries, dashboards, and alerts, and integrating logs from diverse systems for monitoring, troubleshooting, and security analysis.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform, including core services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC; understanding of basic cloud deployment, storage, and security concepts.
