Position: Network Security Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD (CANX) - (Possibility of traveling to Texas, Colorado, California, Korea, UK for network deployment 1x per quarter) (travel is expensed/reimbursed)

Must Haves:
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Security+ Certification
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Can be subbed for 4 years of additional work experience)
12 years of experience as a Network Engineer with the ability to design, integrate, and deploy network security solutions including firewalls, load balancing, and Symantec proxies
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco and/or Network Certifications (CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, etc.)
Day-To-Day:
Insight Global is partnering with a client to hire a TS/SCI with Polygraph cleared Senior Network Security Engineer to support a classified contract in Columbia, MD. This person will be joining a team responsible for providing network boundary security solutions and daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and support a wide range of network and security solutions across LAN, WAN, and RF communications environments. Optimize end to end system performance and dataflow, ensuring reliable connectivity between front end and back end components with minimal downtime.
Implement scalable, high speed, and fault tolerant network architectures, including load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, and authentication services. Monitor and analyze network performance to reduce latency and maximize throughput.
Coordinate closely with system engineering and dataflow teams to validate new and existing data formats and maintain seamless mission operations. Lead large, dynamic technical efforts, define requirements with cross functional teams, and mentor junior network engineers.
Support consistent, repeatable inspection processes for boundary security services—firewalls, proxies, VPNs—to detect threats, ensure compliance, and maintain strong security posture. Conduct technical assessments using approved security tools and support investigations by analyzing and reconstructing network traffic.
Engineer next generation, policy compliant security solutions aligned with industry best practices. Deploy and monitor integrated security and load balancing functions to enhance both performance and protection across the enterprise.
