ASRC Federal Advanced Research, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, has been delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets. We are seeking a Crypto Systems Engineer to join our team at Blossom Point Tracking Facility (BPTF) in Welcome, MD.
Role/Responsibilities:
The Crypto Systems Engineer will be a part of the technical team that will assist with, and sometimes lead, the integration of new missions into the Blossom Point ground system baseline. Tasks will include planning system upgrades, resolving issues and adding new capabilities to the infrastructure with a focus on encryption devices. - Lead the COMSEC program for the site, retrieve keys and devices, primary POC for COMSEC inspections.
- Use of standard requirements definition processes for new and/or expanded projects
- Identify and manage risks on new and existing projects
- Conduct trades studies on new technologies for ground system architecture, specifically Crypto gear
- Participate in, and sometimes lead meetings, reviews, and working groups with external customers and internal teams
- Work with project management teams to monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
- Work with cyber team to ensure network security requirement are addressed
- Configure, install and test new equipment on the existing architecture
- Troubleshoot problems with the ground system and work with Operations to address rectify the issue
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field, and 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with satellite command and control systems including ground antennas
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with cryptographic equipment and networks
Security Clearance
- Must have the capability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
