Senior Cloud Engineer

Purpose:

• Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Senior Cloud Engineer in Huntsville, AL
• In this role you will deliver engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Production team. You will focus on cloud technology as a subject matter expert and help guide evaluation of cloud architectures, designs, and implementations. You interact with Government and Prime Contractors in support of MDA's M&S and integration and test programs on Amazon Web Service (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure. You may be asked to analyze integration of systems engineering processes and methodologies to ensure effectiveness of this work.

Job Description:

• Develop and review Framework Software in the Cloud (SWIC) requirements
• Develop and review Framework and Missile Defense System Interface Control Documents (ICD), to include Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) Ground Test Integrated System Simulation (GTISS)
• Lead and facilitate technical discussions and collaboration activities with both internal and external stakeholders to include Prime Contractors and Missile Defense elements
• Actively participate in Framework, RepBox, and CTM Program Agile Software Development Increment Planning activities
• Draft and review technical documents, briefings, white papers, etc.
• Play a role in overall functional strategic planning of Framework, RepBox and CTM Systems Engineering (SE) processes within the organization

Qualifications:

• Must have a MS degree and 12+years of relevant experience.
• Must have AWS Foundational and Associate level certifications and/or Azure Fundamentals and Associate level certifications
• Must have knowledge of model and simulation (M&S) development.
• Must have experience in Agile and Lean software development principles.
• Must have experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Leaning (ML) concepts and applications.
• Must have experience in software containerization development concepts and applications.
• Must have experience in model and simulation requirements development.
• Must have experience in model and simulation verification and validation.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance, preferred.
• AWS Professional and Specialty certifications and/or Azure Expert and Specialist certifications, preferred.
• Experience in Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) signature models, preferred.
• Experience with environmental models and environmental states and effects, preferred.
• Experience with missile defense system (MDS) and/or threat system simulation and model testing processes, preferred.
• Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), preferred.
• Experience with DoD and/or MDA acquisition and systems engineering, preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Active Secret with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal Travel; 10% or less
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
