The Opportunity:
Provide the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) J5 Strategy Division with strategic planning and policy analysis expertise to ensure the continuous development, integration, and governance of the AFRICOM Theater Strategy and/or the AFRICOM Campaign Plan. Analyze higher-level policy, strategy, plans, and guidance to develop, staff, and continually assess AFRICOM concepts, strategies, and plans to support strategic command decision-making and achieve AFRICOM objectives in the AOR. Support creation, implementation, and communication of strategies and support operational and institutional campaign planning. Provide essential content and coordination for high-level strategic forums and engagements, ensuring AFRICOM's priorities are clearly communicated and supported at the national level.
Responsibilities:
Develop, integrate, advance, and assess the AFRICOM Theater Strategy and/or the AFRICOM Campaign Plan. Support the development of Commander's Estimates. Develop and maintain AFRICOM Consolidated Strategic Opportunities and support content development for Strategic Forums. Enable development of White Papers, research, Talking Points, Executive Summaries, Briefings, Memorandums, GO/FO Coordination, etc. Provide input to senior level AFRICOM correspondence for senior leader communication to a range of diverse stakeholders to include, but not limited to, Congress, Interagency partners, Joint Staff, OSW, and adjacent Combatant Commands. Work is primarily at US Africa Command Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Work is both Classified and Unclassified.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Active TOP SECRET Clearance with eligibility for SCI.
- Masters' Degree in a related field and 3 years of specialized experience; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of specialized experience; OR 10 years of specialized experience.
- Prior experience developing high level command policy, strategy, and planning documents.
- Exceptional reading, writing, and communication (oral and written) knowledge, skills, and ability.
Desired:
- Prior experience working at AFRICOM or at one of its Service Components
- Prior experience working at or with the Department of War, the Joint Staff, or a Combatant Command.
- Possess a strong understanding and experience with the Joint Strategic Planning System and the Joint Operational Planning Process.
- Understand the Department of War Security Cooperation guiding directives and processes.
- Formal training and education through programs such as the Army's Basic Strategic Art Program (BSAP) or similar advanced Military Strategic Studies schools.
- Experience working with USG interagency departments and agencies.
- Experience supporting high-level engagements, conferences, symposiums, and other forums.
