Job Overview

The Information System Security Specialist III oversees the information security program implementation within the organization or other areas of responsibility. Manages strategy, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, security awareness, and/or other resources. Acquires the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals, and reduce overall organizational risk.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Maintain the security posture of Information Systems in accordance with DoD RMF and cybersecurity policies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain system security documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and accreditation artifacts.
  • Monitor system compliance, assess security controls, and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Serve as a principal advisor on cybersecurity matters to program and technical teams.
  • Coordinate all hardware, software, and configuration changes with ISSM and Authorizing Officials.
  • Support cybersecurity reporting requirements, audits, and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Perform all other job-related duties assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Current Information Security Level II Certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience supporting the installation of hardware and software products.
  • Current Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Government Contracts.

Working Conditions:
  • This position is primarily performed in an office setting using standard office equipment (desk, computer, phone, printer, copier, etc.).
  • Must be able to load/unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires the ability to operate a computer and work in a standard office environment.
  • Effectively communicate information in verbal and written form, read and review information and charts, perform analytical thinking skills, and use sound judgement.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend or squat.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
