ASRC Federal Agile Management is seeking an IT Systems Technician to support an upcoming DHS program. This position will require the IT Systems Technician to work onsite in Ashburn, VA.

Summary: The IT Systems Technician will provide support for the Systems Technology Support Branch, focusing on the operational and maintenance requirements of the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD). The role demands technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities to support systems that facilitate traveler processes at Ports of Entry (POEs).

The IT Systems Technician is responsible for providing crucial support in the maintenance and operation of information technology systems within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Office of Information and Technology. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, managing user access and permissions, and ensuring the functionality of applications and devices critical to the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II support for PSPD systems, resolving issues related to application access and user roles.
  • Install and configure of desktop workstations, laptops, tablets, and wireless access points, including re-imaging them and sanitizing old devices in support of passenger operations.
  • Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability issues in support of passenger operations.
  • Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported computer and network incidents to minimize downtime for passenger operations.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking incident tickets, addressing end-user queries, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Participate in regular system maintenance schedules, including software updates and hardware checks.
  • Collaborate with other branches within the OIT to ensure seamless operations and swift resolution of issues.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation of system changes.
  • Compile monthly status reports outlining support activities, system performance, and user feedback.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the proper utilization of PSPD applications and systems.
  • Support users in navigating security protocols and ensuring compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical leads in implementing system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Aid in the facilitation of design review sessions and stakeholder meetings to discuss system designs and requirements
  • Adhere to CBP Information Systems Security Policies and maintain eligibility through required security training.
  • Participate in maintaining documentation related to security clearances and compliance requirements.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or a related field, preferably in a government or large organizational setting.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems and applications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Federal regulations and CBP's operational necessities is a plus.
  • US Citizenship to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
