  • Establish deadlines and set priorities based on daily assignments.
  • Review work in progress and upon completion.
  • Ensure all personnel, materials and equipment required for operations are at designated work site.
  • Explain all work requirements, methods, procedures, specific hazards and safety precaution to all personnel.
  • Examine and secure freight for shipment or storage.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
  • This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
  • Performs duties which involve the control, accountability and shipment of arms, ammunition and explosives (AAE). Incumbent must maintain AAE Security Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position will travel occasionally to include CONUS/OCONUS travel.
  • Passport may be required.
  • Immunization/physical pre-mobilization may be required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Blocker and Bracer Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common technical and administrative supervisory duties. I can prioritize workload based off priorities and future deadlines; implement training plans; and perform blocker and bracer operations. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
