Help power a growing organization by bringing your accounting expertise to our team. We have an immediate opportunity for an Accountant focused on Financial Reporting and Financial Statements. Under technical direction, you will support accounting operations and financial reporting requirements in compliance with Treasury, OMB, and federal accounting standards throughout the closeout period. This is a remote, full-time role.
- Log and track commercial invoices, IPAC transactions, and related payment documents in the Phoenix accounting system to support document control, auditability, and payment tracking.
- Support monthly and quarterly Treasury and OMB reporting requirements, including GTAS submissions and certification.
- Prepare and review SF-133 reports, Statements of Transactions, Unobligated Appropriation Reports, and DATA Act submissions.
- Support preparation of interim and final financial statements in accordance with OMB Circular A-136 and FASAB standards.
- Post and reconcile general ledger entries related to asset transfers, liabilities, dismantlement accruals, and foreign currency account closures.
- Clear intragovernmental and suspense accounts prior to financial statement preparation.
- Support documentation and development of financial statement notes.
- Assist with SF-1151 Non-Expenditure Transfers, fund extensions, rescissions, and apportionment actions through GWA/CARS.
- Support CFO and OIG review processes.
Requirements
- Position requires US citizenship and ability to successfully pass a government background investigation.
- Must be able to support/work core hours of 1000-1500 Washington DC time regardless of remote location.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or related field.
- Experience: 3 years of federal accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of
- FASAB and GAAP
- USSGL
- OMB Circulars A-11, A-123, and A-136
- Ability to effectively work in a high-volume, time-sensitive closeout environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to work independently in a virtual team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Teams or similar workplace chat and videoconferencing tools.
