We are seeking an experienced Software Formal Qualification Test (FQT) Lead to join the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) software department supporting the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) SW Integrated Product Team (IPT). The LTAMDS SW IPT is responsible for developing, integrating, and testing and deploying software solutions for advanced radar systems in the missile defense domain. The FQT Lead will lead FQT efforts for the IPT across multiple software products and contracts.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead FQT activities and events aligning to customer milestones across multiple LTAMDS contacts
  • Organize FQT activities of geographically distributed software teams developing a range of SW products
  • Work closely with other disciplines including Systems Engineering, Software Safety and Quality to ensure successful execution of FQT events
  • Work with USG customer to demonstrate FQT test execution
  • Create and maintaining FQT documentation to be delivered to the USG customer
  • Contribute to the evolution of our automated FQT infrastructure enabling continuous FQT activities
  • Track and communicate FQT preparation and execution activities to program and functional leadership
  • Define and own a process for FQT across a collection of software and firmware products
  • Define a framework with tools, environments, and configurations used for FQT for software subsystems and embedded products.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of experience.
  • Experience with formal qualification testing on a DoD program
  • Experience leading a technical effort
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with missile defense systems, radar, or DoD large-scale systems
  • Prior participation in SW FQT preparation and execution
  • Experience with the following tools and technologies: Perl, Python, Bash, DOORS, Jenkins, MATLAB, and/or Grafana
  • Experience in formal qualification testing of embedded software products
  • Experience in formal qualification testing of diverse software products integrated together as a complex software deployment
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience leading teams across multiple sites

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
