Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the final escalation point for incident handling, conducting forensic investigations, malware reverse engineering, and developing custom defense tools.
- Use advanced threat intelligence and log analysis to identify system vulnerabilities.
- Integrate threat intelligence into defense strategies and create detection rules for emerging threats.
- Evaluate and enhance the organization's security program by spotting gaps and recommending improvements, influencing policies and technology decisions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for cyber security technologies, controls, and practices.
- Provide guidance on secure configuration of infrastructure, applications, and cloud services.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to threat modeling efforts.
- Maintain security standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Support internal and external audits and compliance assessments.
- Work with technical teams to integrate security requirements into projects and operations.
- Provide training to all SOC staff on various aspects of cyber security in order to improve understanding of the organization and industry best practices.
You MUST have:
- Must have an Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, incident response, and threat analysis; proficiency with SIEM platforms, malware analysis, and reverse engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess evidence and attack methods.
- 7+ years of experience in information security or a related technical discipline
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
- Experience with network, system, application, and cloud security
- Knowledge of vulnerability management and incident response processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH or GIAC
- Experience in regulated environments
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
