Satellite Ground Systems Engineer

Insight Global’s client is rapidly expanding a high‑priority engineering team in support of a major Department of Defense space initiative involving a large, proliferated low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. This mission provides missile warning, missile tracking, tactical data transport, and resilient communications for U.S. national security.

As a Satellite Ground Systems Engineer, you will help transition advanced mission software, algorithms, and applications into operational ground environments that interface directly with space assets. You will be central to enabling real‑time data flows, implementing tasking and queuing logic, and ensuring seamless integration across ground‑to‑space systems.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Relocation Offered)
Work Environment: Hybrid (Onsite ~3 days/week)
Clearance Required:
• Secret (Junior–Mid Level)
• TS/SCI (Senior Level)

Supporting: Space Development Agency (SDA)

Ideal Candidate Experience
• Background in satellite ground systems, real‑time communications, or end‑to‑end systems integration
• Strong understanding of tasking/queuing frameworks and mission‑critical operations
• Experience with RTS ICDs, protocol documentation, and spacecraft interface control documents
• Hands‑on work with sensor fusion, telemetry interfaces, or large‑scale DoD space programs
• Experience in missile tracking/warning/defense environments
• Expertise in raw data processing, data fusion, and downlink operations
• Familiarity with PWSA architectures, LEO constellations, or tactical space missions
• Proven ability to integrate algorithms into operational ground systems

Engineer I / II
• Salary: $90,000–$115,000
• Clearance: Secret
• Requirements:
– Bachelor’s + 2 years experience, or
– Master’s + 0 years experience
Engineer III / IV
• Salary: $105,000–$145,000
• Clearance: Secret
• Requirements:
– Bachelor’s + 5–9 years, or
– Master’s + 3–7 years, or
– PhD + 0–4 years
Engineer V (Senior)
• Salary: $145,000–$190,000
• Clearance: TS/SCI
• Requirements:
– Bachelor’s + 14+ years, or
– Master’s + 12+ years, or
– PhD + 9+ years
